Humanities Media Digital Zone

While you’re on the Michigan Tech campus, take time to visit our newly renovated Humanities Media Digital Zone. Located on the first floor of the Walker building, the HDMZ provides faculty and students the critical resources needed to educate the next generation of technical communicators.

You’ll also find on Walker’s first floor a sampling of the publications and programmatic accomplishments produced here in the Humanities Department.

A slideshow will be running on the first floor, too, offering views of STC Senior Portfolios, as well as pictures and clips chosen to suggest technical communication’s interdisciplinary and complex nature.

Technical Support and Internet Access

The entire building (Memorial Union Building or MUB) in which the keynote address, plenary presentations, and panels will take place is wired for the internet. All rooms offer projectors, screens, and overheads. We’re guessing that people will be bringing their own laptops, but we do have a limited number to loan. If you need a loaner, please contact Ann Brady: mabrady@mtu.edu.

If you need to print a document or two, please see a consultant in the HDMZ, 1st floor, Walker.

Free internet access will be made available to everyone who’s registered for the Conference and Pre-Conference. You’ll find login information in your CPTSC Conference packets.

MUB/Hotel Shuttles

We’re providing free shuttle service to and from the Houghton County Airport, as well as between the MUB and Houghton hotels. To view the schedule, click here: CPTSCTransportation
